Banda is a small town 30 k.m away from Sagar in the Kanpur road. St. Joseph’s Church started functioning on July 1, 1996. The pioneering works were done by Fr. Jose Malekudy and Bro. Varghese Savari. The Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus came to help out in the parish. Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Pastor Neelankavil blessed the church on 20th September 2000, when Fr. Vincent was the priest in-charge. At present Fr. Robin Pullokaran is the Parish Priest.
On 4th January 2001 the new presbytery was blessed and later on 9th August 2002 St. Joseph’s Clinic also was blessed and inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Neelankavil. It is temporarily set up in the residence of the Sisters of Jesus. Through this clinic we reach medical help to the poor and backward classes of the villages in and around Banda. |
